Volunteering
Epsom Canine Rescue have no paid staff and rely solely on volunteers to help care for our dogs, and raise funds for the work that we do. There are various ways that you can help:
-
Walking the Kennel Dogs
- - The kennels we use are based near Copthorne in Surrey, and you will need your own transport to get there as there is no public transport nearby, we are currently moving dogs older dogs and those with special requirements to Bletchingley where we have an OAP unit.
- - We are looking for more mid-week walkers (as weekends are currently covered), and as these are private boarding kennels, dogs can only be walked between approximately 11am - 3pm.
- - Like many mixed breed rescues, we have a lot of terriers and bullbreeds/staffies in our care - so walkers will need to be confident & capable of handling a variety of breeds of dogs; including those of a lively and more boisterous nature.
- - All walkers will need to undergo an induction first , so we ask for a minimum commitment of fortnightly walking.
- - Unfortunately you will not be able to bring your own dog to walk with you , or children.
- - Walkers will need to be at least 21 years of age.
- - If you are Interested in walking our dogs, please complete our Volunteer Application below:
- Volunteer application form
- Volunteering at Events & Fetes
- - We organise/attend a number of events throughout the year including street collections, dog shows, dog walks, music and quiz nights and fetes.
- - We are also lucky enough to be assigned to two Pets at Home stores in Byfleet and Epsom and as such do monthly tombolas and fundraisers and desperately need help to cover these both at weekends and weekdays.
- - Despite our name, most events & fetes that we attend are within a 15 mile radius of Reigate.
- - If you are interested in helping out either tin rattling, setting up or baking cakes , please take a look at our Diary of Events Page and also please join our lively Facebook Group where appeals for help will be posted in the run-up to events.
- - Please fill outand return the form below.

Fostering
We desperately need more foster homes, and will always look to match a suitable dog with you. We provide any equipment and food needed, and full back-up & support. Plus veterinary fees are paid.
We do not look for weekend or short-term foster placements, as this is very disruptive for our dogs.
If you are interested in fostering dogs, please complete our re-homing application here stating 'Fostering' in place of the dogs name.
