Name: Marge
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: 10 yrs
Colour: Blue Brindle
Dog friendly: To be assessed
Cats: No
Children: 12+

Poor Marge has recently come into rescue after she was not collected by her owner from the pound and was finding kennel life quite distressing :(  She loves people and tennis balls, but bless her is quite worried by noises and does get anxious in new situations :( She has bonded really well with Becky and her team and we are hoping to get her out and about gradually to try and build up her confidence.

Once she is assessed, we will be looking for a quiet  home with a routine and a gentle and patient approach to help introduce her to new things slowly.

She is such a sweet girl and we do feel she may have had a hard life xxx

All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered  where medically appropriate.

Please note that due to limited resources we are only able to rehome our dogs within a 20 mile radius of Reigate.

Name: Sally
Breed: Parson Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: 14 yrs
Colour: Tri-colour
Dog friendly: Yes
Cats: Yes
Children: 12 plus

Sally is sadly looking for a home as her old mum has had to go into care :(  She is an extremely affectionate and knowing little girl, can be a bit timid at first but soon comes around if you offer her a tennis ball or some sausage !!!!

She is looking for a quiet retirement home with lots of love and company. She is good with other dogs but not keen on youngsters rushing up to her and will politely tell them off, and does get quite jealous over laps and food which she is not keen to share, so would be best going as an only pet whereby she gets all the attention xx She does have poorly joints and is not up for a long walk but happy to potter around in the garden with you and when you are not looking will go off and hide all the tennis balls! She also finds steps difficult so would be suited to a flat area straight from the kitchen door or is happy to be carried up and down x She is great company and easy to have around, happy to snooze by your feet when you are on the computer and for an oldie is very clean and does ask to go out. She is currently on Previcox as an anti inflammatory daily.

A really sweet girlie just yearning to be loved x

Name: Ben
Breed:

Lurcher/Staffordshire Bull Terrier Crossbreed

Sex: Male
Age: 4 Years
Colour: Black & White
Dog friendly: Yes
Cats: No
Children: Adult

Please meet ECR's very loving and smiley, Ben.

Ben has been in our care for several years and is in long term foster at HQ.

He gets on well with other dogs, though his play is a bit boisterous and he is very forward, so gentle introductions needed. He is exceptionally agile, and can leap very high (even from a stand-still or sitting position), so will need a very secure garden with a minimum of 6-foot fencing.  Ben does need a semi rural home where most of the off lead is in fields as not suited to a suburban park environment. Ben is very bright and eager to learn,  and all he wants to do, is to please you. He knows 'sit', 'come', 'down', 'paw', 'this way' and 'stay' and does a ‘high-five’. Ben has a wonderfully broad smile and a very bouncy, energetic nature. He will need regular off- lead running over open spaces to burn off some energy but the sight hound instinct is very strong and he is very prey driven, so will chase deer, squirrels etc and when on a scent is oblivious to the dangers of traffic and his recall.

Ben is very bit timid when first meeting new people and isn’t an overly confident dog and would be best suited to a quiet home with a routine. He is particularly anxious when confined in a small space such as a car, crate or similiar and will growl  at approaching strangers, this is through fear. We are therefore looking for a special home that will use gentle methods of training and confidence building to bring out the very best in him.  He is a super boy and wants nothing more than to be cuddled and kissed -tummy rubs are a particular favourite!

Ben has gone to two separate potential homes whilst with ECR but sadly in the first home the resident female dog became jealous and did not want to share her home with Ben much to the heartache of Ben and his potential adopters. Ben was faultless in the home.

Ben then went on a trial basis to another home where he was equally adored. This family lived in an area where his only off-lead running was in woods where there were Deer. It became apparent Ben has a high prey drive for wildlife and thus could not be let off-lead there at all. As Ben needs plenty of off-lead exercise to burn off his energy levels he has had to come back into the care of ECR. Ben can thus only be re-homed to a family where any off-lead running will not be in wooded areas where there are Deer.

BLIND AND LOOKING FOR LOVE AND A WARM LAP

Angel is an adorable , loving & friendly scruffy 11 year old terrier and is sadly looking for a retirement home with a warm lap and lots of cuddles due to a change in personal circumstances.

Her lack of sight doesn’t hold her back and she successfully navigates herself around the home - finding all the best laps and pillows for a snooze. She enjoys her walks and has great recall, always listening out and sniffing for where you are, and will follow you around off lead, just needing a little voice guidance around any obstacles such as holes or steps.

She has lived with other dogs, but over time it becomes apparent that she would prefer to be the only permanent dog in the household - visiting dogs are fine though.

Angel likes to spend her evenings cuddled up next to you, but will also settle in her own bed or with a chew if she senses you are near.

Recent upheavals and her lack of sight have compounded her separation anxiety and she is currently on some medication to assist with this whilst she is settling here at ECR HQ and we would look to continue this initially when she goes to her new home at the rescue cost.

We would look for the new owner to work with a behaviour programme to help assist with the separation issues and really looking for someone that is home based/retired, with understanding neighbours as she does tend to bark when left.

She is such a sweet girlie, just wanting to be loved and so happy to sleep in her bed or nibble on her chews whilst you are busy doing things in the house and it is so sad that she hasn’t got her own lap to snuggle in ☹

If you have room in your heart and on your sofa for this little angel, please contact us.

We are looking for either an Adoption  or a Foster ( where all veterinary expenses will be covered by the rescue) Home for Angel.

Angel  is vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered .

Name: Ruby
Breed: American Bulldog cross
Sex: Female
Age: 7 years
Colour: Brindle & White
Dog friendly:

Can be choosy

Cats: No
Children: 12+

Ruby is a lovely affectionate girl, full of exuberance and is at her happiest charging around the garden with her toys and then coming to flop on you for a cuddle. She is quite a clumsy girlie and doesn’t realise her size or her weight (30 kilos) and likes to try and sit on your lap!!

She underwent a cruciate and meniscus tear operation at the end of last summer which meant that walks and socialisation training were suspended for some months, the operation was a great success and she is no longer in pain and back to charging around the garden.

Ruby is very much a people dog and loves nothing more than you to spend time in her company interacting with toys, treats and cuddles and is even very gentle with elderly people despite her normal clumsiness .

She is a big favourite amongst all of our volunteers, even the ones that are not normally bullbreed lovers as she gives everyone such a wonderful greeting and is genuinely pleased to see them.Ruby is not keen to share this and as such we are looking for a semi rural home with a large garden where she can have some decent off lead playing and any walks can be onlead.

Ruby is currently in foster and her foster mum can confirm that she is easy to have around, happy to occupy herself with a bone or rawhide and take herself of into the garden to play with a toy.

She greets everyone with a bottom wag and a smile and is good company and can be found beside you helping in the kitchen (she does counter surf!!) or on gardening duty down in the veg patch.

.

Ruby is extremely sensitive,  and always keen to please and loves any form of fuss, especially tummy tickles, please consider this big bundle of love.

Ruby  is vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered .
